Scope
This course provides engineers with a comprehensive understanding of gas processing operations, focusing on critical aspects such as natural gas treatment, dehydration, sweetening, compression, and troubleshooting. It is designed to build practical skills and enhance operational efficiency within the oil and gas industry.

General Course Objectives:
By the end of the Gas Processing Operations (GPO) - Initial course, participants will be able to:

Understand the origins and development of Root Cause Failure Analysis.
Explain the purpose and benefits of conducting RCFA within a maintenance and reliability context.
Apply a systematic approach to implementing RCFA processes effectively.
Distinguish between Root Cause Failure Analysis and standard failure investigations.
Utilise best-practice RCFA tools, such as FTA, Fishbone Diagrams, 5-Why Analysis, FMEA, and Pareto Charts, along with clear explanations and practical examples.

General Course Objectives:

Demonstrate a solid understanding of the fundamentals of gas processing.
Operate gas treatment systems safely and efficiently, applying best practices in day-to-day operations.
Identify, analyse, and resolve common operational issues to improve system reliability and performance.

Gas Gathering and Transmission Systems
Acid Gas Removal: Amine sweetening processes
Gas Dehydration Systems: Glycol and molecular sieve technologies
Hydrocarbon Recovery and NGL (Natural Gas Liquids) Extraction
Compression and Cooling Processes
Troubleshooting Common Operational Problems
Safety Practices and Considerations in Gas Processing

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent), or experience in oil & gas operations).
